Set on 120 acres in one of the most beautiful valleys in the Languedoc this villa’s bucolic vistas will draw you in. Secluded and charming. Cozy and welcoming. La Fraissinède is the French countryside villa of your dreams. It’s the perfect spot to stay in, relax and unwind.
With loving attention from the villa’s owners and the keen eye of London-based interior designer Samantha Todhunter, La Fraissinède distills everything charming about the French countryside into a welcoming home that’s brimming with character. Once an 18th century barn and wine shop, the live-in owners decided to transform La Fraissinède into a vacation home for themselves and friends. With some original stone walls and wooden beam ceilings still intact and its magazine-worthy modern design , La Fraissinède feels like the holiday home of your sophisticated friend that you’ll never want to leave.
Here you’ll find eight secluded bedrooms, a pool, an all-weather tennis court and sheltered gardens and terraces that allow for true indoor-outdoor living amid immaculate views of the surrounding vineyards. It’s a brilliant home base to get out and explore the mountains, lakes and culture of the region, or simply appreciate the beauty of the countryside from afar while lounging with a local wine in hand. A full concierge service is provided by a live-in staff and additional chefs, spa therapists and nannies can be provided upon request.
Set between Toulouse, Montpellier, and the Spanish border, La Fraissinède boasts the perfect location for getting acquainted with the southwest of France. This quaint villa calls the charmingly undiscovered Corbières region home, which slopes from the Pyrenees down to the pristine shores of the Mediterranean with plenty of picturesque vineyards, farms and villages in between.
From the villa, you can partake in the wine tastings and afternoons and the local vineyards, hike or bike the unspoiled surrounding mountains, take a cooking class in the comfort of your own kitchen or enjoy a restorative day at the lake. If you’re ready to venture a little further, visit the Medieval walled city of Carcassonne to explore a handful of castles and cathedrals. And while you’re there, sample some of the region’s hearty dishes at La Barbacane for a fine dining approach to classic local favorites like chestnut and truffle soup, or enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere at Brasserie le Donjon for the region’s most famous dish, cassoulet.
