Tucked in the foothills of San Jose del Cabo, Acre is a lush sanctuary set on 25 acres, featuring light dappled tree house rooms, organic farming, and an award-winning bar and restaurant. It’s a relaxed and refined playground less than 3 hours from LAX.
Think of Acre as a secret garden—full of palms, new experiences and free spirit. Stays include a natural wake-up-call of chirping birds, daily breakfast, morning yoga, and free rein to enjoy all the grounds have to offer. Sip on award-winning cocktails by the pool, play a game of badminton or bocce, explore abundant gardens, and get to know a menagerie of Acre animals—there’s a sanctuary here that includes peacocks, roosters, Nigerian dwarf goats, and one incredibly adorable donkey named Burrito.
San Jose del Cabo was founded hundreds of years ago where a natural freshwater oasis flowed into the palm-lined lagoons at the edge of the Sea of Cortés. The area remains home to hundreds of species of wildlife and exotic flora. In the local area, excursions abound: from birdwatching, to surfing and scuba lessons, to golf, to simply soaking in the charming, old town of San José del Cabo. The ocean is just five minutes away, and there’s an arrangement in place that Acre guests may use the private beach club at the arty El Ganzo Hotel.
Travel with Impact
Acre Dogs is a sanctuary that houses and re-homes stray dogs and their litters, something of a local issue. Hotel guests can visit the home to help with the rehabilitation and socialization of the animals—and more than a few visitors have found a new family member here.
