An award winning, eco- and wellness-focused architectural gem, nestled between wildly sprouting coconut palms, Mayan chit trees, and the ocean—Sanará Tulum is a property fully in tune with its surroundings. It was #3 in Harper's Bazaar’s 150 Greatest Hotels in the World, 2017.
We suggest: enjoy everything Sanará has to offer, including one of Tulum's best yoga studios and world famous restaurant The Real Coconut with Hotel Credits. $1500 in Credits should cover you for a weekend stay, plus a few on-site activities.
Sanará’s 19 suites, rooms and private villas, plus wellness center and yoga studio, all sit on a white sand beach overlooking crystal clear turquoise sea. Each room is air conditioned, has a private balcony, and a luxurious king bed.
The hotel's renowned restaurant, The Real Coconut, is more than a simple beachfront eatery. All yummy recipes by its creator, owner Daniella Hunter, are “free from” grain, gluten, dairy, refined sugar, corn and soy. The Real Coconut products are now carried by stores worldwide.
The yoga studio here is also one of Tulum’s best. In the evenings, sound healing and gong events provide immersive sessions. At the resort’s wellness center, a roof deck provides incredible sunsets over the Mayan Jungle to accompany a deep massage.
Tulum has an abundance of charms, you’ll discover many of them. but here are four spots not to miss. Lolita Lolita is a store specializing in organic skin care, body oils, hair care, aromatic candles and love potions. The mamey seed cold-pressed oil is one of our favorite products, the seasonal fruit is good for repairing damaged ends, and softening beards. Book an appointment at the Mayan Clay Spa for a unique massage with clay, all set within natural palm tree gardens. At Coba Ruins, 44 km northwest of Tulum, you’ll find an ancient Mayan city, which is best explored by bike. After exploring the ruins, visit Coqui Coqui Perfumeria in the heart of Coba lagoon, for more unique architecture and exquisite taste.
Travel with Impact
Restoration is central for guests and for the planet at Sanará. The resort is built from sustainably sourced materials, with consideration to the environment. Buildings sit above the sand to allow turtles to nest. Solar power is used, water is recycled, and a rainwater collection system is in effect—all to leave minimal impact on the pristine landscape. The Real Coconut, meantime, brings a positive impact on the local economy, as local farmers supply the organic produce.
